New PSN ad mocks Xbox Live costs

A new ad for PSN highlights that it is free to play online on the PS3, subtly lambasting the cost associated with Xbox Live.
The ad is appearing online on various videogame websites with the message 'PlayStation Network - Where the fun is always free.' Sony is finally making amends for ignoring one of the strongest selling points of the PS3 - free online gaming. The Xbox 360 requires an annual subscription for gamers to play online.
In the UK the RRP of Xbox Live is £40 quid (approximately $80) which is a lot dearer than the USA standard price of just $50 (£25 quid.) Why Microsoft are charging the British and Europeans so much more for a product that has no physical element is outrageous. As a confirmed videogamer I do pay my subscription to Xbox Live, but it is done begrudgingly and through gritted teeth.
