Disc Image of Game

So say I download a disc image of a game what do I do with the downloaded files ?

disc images? -- you mount them.

they'll be ISO, or NRG, or CUE, or MDF/S or whatever.
(under Win) you'll have to use tools such as DaemonTools, Alcohol 120%, or Nero (ImageDrive)
to create a virtual drive and "mount" the images there.
you'll then have a fake DVD/CD-ROM drive, which will contain what the game's DVD/CD would.

under Linux, there's nothing to download/install so that you can mount images.
but then again, Linux ain't a gaming OS.
